This is exactly what is happening to mine at the moment. It will _only_ do false starts, I have managed to get it started a times with a booster, so the symptoms are an exact fit. Thank you for the video and explanation!

Very cool van, I have a 69 108 and love love love mine. It's awesome to see your van still has that chrome only the sportvan custom has . I'm glad you saved her as she's cleaner than mine and I hate seeing any 1st or 2nd Gen being cut up or crushed unless she is extremely beyond fixing.

Hey, great video. I suspect injector issues on mine. Had a cold snap down in central Florida and a couple days after just ran like crap, like only one cylinder was firing. How do you enter diagnostics mode and where did you get the injectors?

I'm having issues qith my roadstar starting system. I'd love to chat. I've lost my key and when I direct wire it won't try starting unless I jump the solenoid... then I only get about a half crank. I think it's what you calling a false start.... right now I've got the main 2 power wires from ignition wired together, and the other 2 taped separate. It give me power to speedo and neutral light indicator is on. I pull clutch in and it attempts, but wont start. Figured battery maybe so got it hooked to my auto with jumper cables and still no start... help please. I've checked fuses. It's not that. I've been at it for days
